MANÁ

DELI & LUNCHES

Maná refers to the Hebrew word in the Bible for the food that God miraculously gave to the Israelites in Exodus after the food they had brought out with them from Egypt had run out – expressed in Spanish in honour of Sol Yerden Eksteen, the family’s Argentinian daughter, who married Pieter Willem in 2019.

At Maná – Deli & Lunches the maná not only comes from heaven, but from our own valley of heaven and earth.
Post COVID the family decided to turn the whole farm into a food forest, supplying the deli with fresh, organic fruit and vegetables all year round. All of our dishes are homemade, from scratch, using fresh produce from our farm where possible, otherwise, ingredients are sourced in from quality-driven, trustworthy suppliers.

Now in a trusted hands of Shani Conradie, Bartho & Suné’s beloved daughter, and Beverly Whitehouse at the helm of the kitchen, they uniquely pair seasonal farm fare with Bartho’s expertly old-fashioned hospitality offered at maná, in the newly renovated stables next to the wine cellar.

FOOD FOREST

PLANT – FOOD – COMPOST

Our food forest philosophy is inspired by our love for food, farming and living healthy and sustainably.

Fruit & vegetables served at Maná is grown organic and harvested fresh from our gardens, or what we like to call our “food forest” on the farm.

The harvested produce is processed for our shop, or is sold fresh to the public. Any waste goes into the compost heap, which then goes back into the ground to fertilise the next batch of beautiful organic veggies grown in the gardens. Seeds of flowering plants are kept to plant again next season.
